the other night I was contemplating purchasing tickets for Bon Jovi’s upcoming Because We Can Tour. I was trying to decide if it was worth the 500 dollars I was about to spend for me and my mom to see them. And then I thought about Prayer live. I thought about how when it starts (and it’s usually saved for the encore these days) all you hear is Jon’s foot keeping tempo echo through out the arena. And then he starts singing acapella “we gotta hold on to what we got” and before he can finish the line the whole place is singing along. And I do mean the whole place. A song that reaches through generations, mothers, daughters, and now even grandchildren singing at the top of their lungs, hanging on to every word. Everyone knows the words to this song without realizing it. And once the talkbox finally kicks in you have tears streaming down your face because you don’t realize just how much this song is rooted in your emotions.
That’s what it’s like to see Bon Jovi live. And, yes, God damn it, it is worth every penny you pay.
Amen.

Your post just gave me chills. Thank you.
