Ugh I don’t have a problem with Nickelback. But I know people make fun of them. And people make fun of Bon Jovi the same way. Like they’re bands that aren’t good enough in their own genres. Ughh. All we need is people grouping them together.
Well I love them both and I’m not embarrassed to admit it. To each their own…
It’s funny you would say they get “made fun of in the same way as Bon Jovi” because I often compare the two. Nickelback is basically the Bon Jovi of the 2000’s. Although they are a band who sells millions of albums, everyone knows the words to their songs, they can sell out stadiums around the world (and I have yet to get good tickets to one of their concerts…by the way people go on you’d think it would be a small room with Nickelback, BabyJ and Me in it…) and obviously a lot of people love them and identify with their music and still….still, people will rip them apart and tell their fans they’re wrong for liking them and their music. I’ve actually had conversations with people trying to convince me I’m wrong about my love for both Bon Jovi and Nickelback. Seriously. Unbelievable.
Correct me anyone…I always was under the impression that music is a personal thing. If you don’t like them fine, but no one needs to convince me they are bad or not worth liking thank you very much. In return I will allow you the same respect.
So in a way I’m glad to see them play together. Supporting one another. Two of the most successful and yet mocked, bands in the world. Laughing all the way to the bank. Just my thoughts on the matter.
Wish I could be there to enjoy it.
I went on my FBook account yesterday to find this message from my adopted daughter (also a Jovi/Supernatural Girl), who has the very enviable job of being a nanny for one of the cast of Supernatural’s children and is presently in Europe while they are on the Comicon Circuit.
It made me laugh and think of this gif…
